I'm excited that Caitlin wrote me a letter. My mom was interested, so I read it to her. She was very happy for me. I asked my mom if she wanted to hear the letter that I wrote to Caitlin, but she said no. A few days later, I told her that Kyle and Bethany both wanted to write to her, too. My mom was mad that I bombarded her with that information. Her response was so unexpected. I felt kind of hurt and defensive. I know it is her deal and not mine. It is what it is. I did get her to listen to Kyle and Bethany's letter because they were super cute and innocent. Both kids hand wrote their letters and opted to send their letters to her in their own envelope in which they addressed themselves. I printed my letter and it's ready to be put in the mail tomorrow with their letters. I wonder what she's going to think when she receives three envelopes from us.
I have a dear friend who is very excited for me about Caitlin's letter and our letters to her. She said that if I ever decided to share our letters with her, she would be so honored. I'm happy that my friend is there for me when my mom can't be. I'm so grateful for our friendship!
So, the letters and photos are going out tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous. Whatever is supposed to happen, will happen.

Did you post them yesterday? I'm sorry your mom wasn't able to be there for you in the way you hoped. Its interesting how even though we know 'who' people are, we continue to take the temperature and just see if maybe this time, they'll be different. I deal with that in my own life too.
Please know that you have many more than just one friend who share in your excitement about your family. I can't wait to hear what happens next :)

Good luck with the letters! I'm glad you were able to write something, feel good about it, and send it off.
