The first morning after I signed up, I had buyer's remorse. I tend to have that every time I buy something expensive. $59.95 is expensive to me. It's just my nature.
Before I signed up, I spoke to Kim about online dating. She asked me if I would go out with someone who wasn't attractive. I've done that before in real life and ended falling for the guy hard. On our first date, we went to a local amusement park and I was sort of embarrassed that I was with him. Back then, I considered myself okay to look at, and he wasn't. But, his personality sucked me in, and in the end it took me years to get over him.
I've been on eHarmony for a few days now and I can honestly say that I'm disappointed with it. Most of the guys that they are matching me up with are about an hour or more away from me. Most of the guys are super tall, too. Anyway, I uploaded my photo and haven't heard from another guy; it's kind of a blow to my self-esteem. I'm feeling rather shy and don't want to make the first move. I was talking to one of Bethany's friends mom, and she said, just send a quick hi or a smile. She said that she preferred Match.com over eHarmony. Yesterday, I took a chance and sent a guy, 5 questions. In eHarmony's world, that's usually the first step. I haven't heard back.
This morning, I was checking my newest matches. If you don't like a guy, you an instantly close the match. One guy has a photo of him or someone bull-fighting... shutter... shutter.... shutter. I closed him very quickly. I was reading another profile and I went to click on the photo link and I accidentally hit, "Send a Smile". Oh, crap. But, I really did smile when I read his profile. He was kind of funny.
All in all, this is an interesting experience. I don't think that I will renew my subscription with eHarmony. It feels really awkward.

Dusty I think its cool that you even registered :) Good for you!!
I also found it a blow to my self esteem - no one replied to my 5 questions and no one just said 'let's meet for coffee sometime'.
Who knows, a month is a long time so just hang in there and see what comes your way. Hopefully no bulls :)
Let us know if anything(one) interesting comes up!!
Now you know! But I agree with Tera - hang in there and see what comes you way. :)
